The lens I purchased is a Quantaray 55-200mm. I paid a whopping $47 for it. My kit lens is 18-55mm. I do have an older Quantaray 70-300mm that I bought for my film Canon a number of years ago. I like my old lens, but it's huge and heavy. This one is lighter and smaller, so it's nice for walking around with.
Anyway, thanks for your comments. I think I'll keep it. Until I can afford the rocking cool $600 Tamron that I want. Ha! Ha! Ha!
And yes, the cosmos show was also with the new lens.
