This past Saturday threatened rain and thundershowers all day, but we were determined to get our shoots lined up for the day completed. Everyone was prompt or even early. Not all of our clients liked the idea of their photos being on the internet, so there aren't a whole lot to show for the day's work.
We were thankful that the rain held off until we were walking to the parking lot after the last shoot. Photo Blitz Day 3 will be the most difficult as they're all family shoots ranging from young children to teenagers. I think we're going to be exhausted by the end of the day.

Friday Evening Fun| Sarnia/Lambton County Family Portrait Photographers
Friday evenings this time of year can be pretty iffy weatherwise, but this past Friday's weather was perfect yet for an evening shoot. The V family was all ready and excited to have their photos taken. Once the little ones got past the shyness, we were on a role. What fun we had! Bright eyes, big smiles, and lots of giggles -- even the squirrels wanted in on the photos.
"Haha! Mommy and Daddy are kissing!"
When you get tired of laying, you can always hang upside down.
What a great way to start off a busy photo session weekend with a more relaxed shoot. Thank you V family for coming out on a Friday evening!

Day One of Photo Blitzing | Sarnia/ Lambton County Family Portrait Photographers
If you perchance are one of the two followers on this blog :0), you know that Murray and I are working on the photo directory for our church. It has been a huge and time consuming project, but at the same time we have learned a lot and gained much more confidence in our shooting capabilities.
Despite the fact that we had many times available throughout the summer, there were between thirty to forty of the approximately one hundred families in our church who did not make an appointment to have their photos done in the four months available. We did anticipate doing some family portraits yet in the fall, but by Labour Day weekend we only had one booked.
As anyone with a busy family knows, once the school year begins, so does everything else. That and the fact the virtually no one had booked past August confirmed that we needed to bite the bullet and get things rolling, so we talked with our booking agent :o) and set up three photo blitz Saturdays. The following images are just a few of the eleven families/individuals who were a part of this past Saturday's blitz.
Most of these are pretty much SOOC. Perhaps a little cropping here and there or a little tweaking of the brightness, but that's about it. Next two goals: 1) to make flash my friend, and 2) learn to work in RAW. First things first though, and that is to get the next two photo blitz Saturdays completed.

Stopping By... | Sarnia/Lambton County Portrait Photographers
Not all of our church family lives within an easy fifteen minute drive of our home or church, but they are still very committed to church and church life. Mrs. V decided she would stop by our place on the way home from an afternoon church meeting to get her directory photos done. It worked out wonderfully! We chatted while I took her photos. I have memories of having her as a church group teacher when I was young. She even gave me my first knitting lessons! Although I've tried, I don't think my knitting skills have improved much. Thankfully my photography skills are better than my knitting skills!
Thank you Mrs. V for going the extra mile to stop by and have your photos done! We really appreciate it!

Golden Hour Photo Session | Sarnia/ Lambton County Family Portrait Photographers
Beach shoots are one of my favorites, although they can be a little tricky. There's a point where the sun is still too bright to do a whole lot and later you're competing against ever deepening dusk. The golden hour however, is exactly that. It lights your subjects with a golden glow and warms the photos with its ever deepening rays. I was happy when M told me earlier this summer that she and D wanted them on the beach with their dog Ralph. It was even better when I learned that they would be at my favorite beach for evening photos. It's the same beach we did our photos at just a week or so earlier, but now it boasts a whole different look.
These were just afew several of my favorites. D and M you were awesome!! Ralph was too -- and the kids really enjoyed him!
