Life Book | Sarnia/Lambton County Photographers
Our three readers :o) may or may not know that we are in the process of adoption. We are at the stage where we have been matched. We're just waiting for our proposal to arrive, so we can do lots of paperwork (again) and hopefully by the end of this year, we'll be able to fly to the Philippines to finally meet and bring home our daughters! Due to privacy reasons, we cannot post the photo we have of them, but if we know you and you would like to see their darling faces, fire us an email, and we'll arrange a way for you too see them too.
In the meantime, we have lots to do to get things ready around here. One of them is to begin to create a life book for them. We used our family photos from last year, but I thought it would be a good idea to have more recent photos of the four munchkins who already take up lots of our time and energy :o). So on a bright sunny morning, (what was I thinking!!), we took a few shots.
They were surprisingly cooperative. Maybe next week I'll tell them it's time to do our annual family portraits. I can hear the groaning already ;o)!

First Swim Meet of the Summer |Sarnia/ Lambton County Photographers
It was the first swim meet of the summer today. It dawned with cloudy, warm, humid temperatures. Perfect for swimmers and spectators alike -- well except when it decided to drizzle on the spectators, but happily that didn't last long. This year we had four for four competing. Their placements varied, but two were consistent. Our son regularly placed second against his teammate, and well -- they were the only two boys swimming in their age group. Our youngest daughter placed consistently last. Hey, someone has to be last, and she's the perfect candidate for it because she was simply happy to be in the pool swimming!
Over the five years we've been braving the early mornings and sometimes very chilly summer weather, we have come to know several of the other families quite well. It's always a good time of visiting and cheering on our own and each other's children. Despite the fact that our children are competing, there is no pressure -- at least not for our team. Our children all go out there, do their best, and have fun. It's what we love about the sport!

An Evening Shoot | Sarnia/ Lambton County Family Portrait Photographers
It was a warm night yesterday evening, but not like the high nineties temperatures we'd been having earlier in the week and thus a great night for some family portraits. The M's property had beautiful spots for photos! I could have taken photos all evening, but I had another engagement that night too, so I had to keep myself in check :o). There were so many great shots in this session that I had a hard time keeping my choices down to post too.
This photo makes me smile -- not just because I love it, but because of what I don't see in the photo. If you look at the first one, you see Bindy the dog, as well as an adored blankie tucked over the crook of Miss H's arm. In this photo, Blankie was confiscated by Mom and Dad, and placed out of camera range. Bindy, however, is technically in the photo. She decided to lie down behind her family.
What a beautiful place! A pond with an island, nice large trees, and a boat to paddle in. M family, we had a great time doing your photos. Thank you for taking time out on a busy Saturday to let us come and take your pictures!

Canada Day Celebrations | Sarnia Lambton County Events Photographers
Canada Day is always a busy, but fun day. It is so neat to get together with thousands of other people to celebrate our nation's birthday!
The parade was remarkably good this year! We almost didn't go, but sometimes you just don't mess with tradition.
While at the waterfront waiting to watch the fireworks, we saw an unusual sight. We are used to seeing lots and lots of dogs, but this was a surprise!
Another gorgeous evening!
The fireworks were spectacular! One of the best shows we've seen yet! And so ended another fun day celebrating the birthday of the true north strong and free. We are indeed blessed to live in such a beautiful country. Happy Canada Day!
