The HMCS Ville de Quebéc | Sarnia Lambton County Photographers

Living where we do, we are blessed to witness some events that land locked cities never do. The fact that I am homeschooling our children also proves advantageous on occasion. Today was one of those occasions. The children and I set out bright and early to watch the HMCS Ville de Quebéc pass through. In memory of 9/11 and all those who lay their lives on the line daily so we can go about our busy lives, there was also a short memorial service. It was touching and something the kids will remember for many years to come. Of course the gun salute, the sheer size of the boat, and the size of the crew will not be forgotten quickly either. I was once again reminded of how blessed I am to live in North America and of how often and how much I just take life for granted.

In My Favorite Gardens | Sarnia/ Lambton County Portrait Photographers

These gardens are perhaps some of the most beautiful ones in our county. With a mix of deciduous and coniferous trees and shrubs, as well as annuals and perennials, it looks beautiful in almost any season, so I was happy to hear that Pastor J and his wife L wanted their photos taken in the gardens. Rain still loomed, but it nicely held off for the shoot and Pastor J patiently waited and even smiled while I took many photos in several places. I think his favorites were when he didn't have to look at the camera :o).

Because he is out pastor, he also gets his own special page in the church directory. And because he gets his own special page, we had to get some photos of him all by himself too.

This was one of my favorites! I think he was looking at his wife, L who was encouraging him to smile. Thank you Pastor J! You and L both took great photos in one of the best outdoor studios around -- overcast skies and lovely gardens!

Dodging the Rain | Sarnia/ Lambton County Family Portrait Photographers

Things were pretty iffy weather wise when we began our shoot with the V family. Thankfully the rain was light and only lasted for a few minutes. I was thrilled to learn that the whole family was home and we would be able to have their daughter, son, and brand new daughter-in-law in the photos too!! We have a marvelous time getting the two dogs to stay in the photos -- and stay out of the photos! I loved that D wanted a photo of their arms all joined into a star. We had to include a photo of their other arms too. You'll see why as you scroll down :o)!

V family, we had an awesome time with you and your doggies too! (Our kids certainly loved them)! Pets sure add a lot of fun to a session! We're glad we all stayed dry too :0)!

The Old Rail Bridge | Sarnia/ Lambton County Family Portrait Photographers

We went with J and H the day before their shoot to check out this neat spot. When I saw it, I loved it right away and immediately saw lots of possibilities. We had a great time with them and the girls and J was very patient about having umpteen dozen photos taken. He even obliged me with letting me take one of just him. (I didn't post it though because I have to save some to surprise them with)!

Thank you J, H, and girls for a great start to another beautiful summer day!

When I Retire | Sarnia/ Lambton County Portrait Photographers

My Uncle J is an avid and amazing gardener! I was more than thrilled to do their church portraits at their home because it is so beautiful! The children were invited along to enjoy a swim while we had a fun time taking their portraits.

Someday when I retire from full time mom and teacher, my gardens will look good too. Of course I won't be able to give up the photography because there is always something new, beautiful, or amazing to get a photo of! Thank you Uncle J and Tante J for opening your home to us. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon with you and the kids had a wonderful time swimming in the pool!

A Morning at the Park | Sarnia/ Lambton County Family Portrait Photographers

It was a beautiful bright Saturday morning. I love shooting in morning sunlight!! I love doing photo sessions with sweet little ones even better. I could have chatted with the H girls all day. They are so engaging and interesting. In the end, it was hard to narrow their photos down to a few favorites, but these blog posts are only supposed to be a sneak peek, so in the end, the following are just a few of my favorites.

Thank you M, R, and girls for a wonderful morning!!
