Some Studio Work | Sarnia/ Lambton County Children's Portrait Photographers

Although we are natural light portrait photographers, sometimes it's fun to play with a little extra light. These were done with pot lights set up in our den. As you can see by the reddish glow that even playing white the balance in RAW cannot totally get rid of, a red studio is not recommended ;o).

Our girls had a lot of fun with this little winter diversion.

Sweet Baby S | Sarnia/ Lambton County Newborn Photographers

Sweet Baby S was just ten days new when we had the opportunity to photograph her. What a precious wee little girl!

So bright eyed!

And sound asleep. I love the timelessness of black and white!

Sweet little baby feet.

Safe in Mama's arms.

Your big sister loves you very much!

Sweet Baby S, you are a blessing from God and we were thrilled to take your first portraits!

Because we remember moments, not days...

We Have a Winner! | Sarnia/ Lambton County Photographers

Using the Excel random number generator, #10 was drawn. Helen, you are the winner of the silver filigree snowflake!  We will contact you shortly by email. A warm thank you to all of you who entered. We loved reading about how you're surviving the winter weather. It sounds like lots of hot chocolate and good books are being enjoyed, as well as long walks in the snow and getting lots of exercise by shoveling too!

Stayed tuned for another giveaway next month. (It will have a little bit to do with Valentine's Day)! This one will be more for our local readers -- unless of course those of you who live farther away would like to come visit beautiful Lambton County. It's much prettier in the summer!

Since every post deserves a photo...

Again, thank you to all of you who entered!

Because we remember moments not days...

A Giveaway! | Sarnia/ Lambton County Photographers

We're excited about the changes that this new year will bring for our family as well as our photography business, so we thought we would host a little giveaway. As I have mentioned before, our family will be growing significantly in the next couple of months through the adoption of three precious little girls from the Philippines. So, for our first ever giveaway, we would like to present our winner with a silver filigree snowflake ornament made in the Philippines. It is from Ten Thousand Villages Canada. If you have never checked out Ten Thousand Villages, you should. It is a great way to enable families in low-income countries to help sustain themselves. The following is just a little bit about Ten Thousand Villages and what they do:

Ten Thousand Villages is a nonprofit Fair Trade Organization. FTOs are non-governmental organizations designed to benefit artisans, not to maximize profits. They market products from handicraft and agricultural organizations based in low-income countries, providing consumers with products that have been fairly purchased from sustainable sources.

Ten Thousand Villages is a member of the World Fair Trade Organization, a global network of Fair Trade Organizations. WFTO’s mission is to improve the livelihood and well-being of disadvantaged producers by linking and promoting Fair Trade organizations and speaking out for greater justice in world trade. Over 270 FTOs in 60 countries form the basis of this network.

Here is a little excerpt about this ornament:

A silver-plated filigree ornament with all of the exquisite detail and beauty of a real snowflake. A finely made seasonal decoration from the skilled artisans of Pekerti Nusantara, a Fair Trade organization based in the Philippines.

In light of all the snow across North America this week, we thought it was only appropriate to be giving away a snowflake from a country that has probably never even seen snow.

If you would like the opportunity to win this intricate ornament, just fill out the boxes at the bottom of the post. This giveaway will close on Sunday at 6pm.  Winner will be chosen by random.org. You will be notified via email and will have 48 hours to respond.
